Second Go.

I was not a happy camper this morning.

Every Sunday morning, my grandpa, my mom and the odd time my aunt, uncle and cousin would go out for breakfast. That changed for me however when I got my job at Tim Horton because I work every Sunday morning now. So seeing as it's the Christmas holidays, i'm able to go whenever I want! So today we decided to go.

Where we go for breakfast, is a bit out of town heading towards Dorchester. It's called Theresa's, and we go there because my grandpa enjoys the food and the waitresses. They all know him as soon as he walks in and they have little chats. I was excited for this breakfast seeing as it was the first time in a while since I've gotten to enjoy it. But it was not the experience I was hoping for.

First off, we had made a reservation. That way we could just go in and sit down at our table, because it is usually pretty busy in the morning. Apparently they didn't get our reservation, so we had no table to go to. We had to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes until somebody tended to us because it was so busy and there were hardly any waitresses. They were clearly under-staffed. This made me slightly irritated before we even sat down.

Second, where we were sitting, was not very convenient for five people. It was a booth, two people would go on each side and someone would have to sit at the end of the table. Which was my aunt, she didn't mind though, although it still kind of sucked.

Third, seeing as there were hardly any waitresses, the waitresses that were there, were stressed and in a rush to do everything. Our waitress pretty much just dropped our forks and knives on the table and rushed off to the next table. I thought it was kind of rude.

Fourth, when we had ordered our food, the waitress did not ask me what I wanted to drink, usually they do, so I was waiting for the question that was never asked. My aunt, grandpa and cousin already had there drinks and my mom just told the waitress she wanted a tea. So I figured I would just tell her that I wanted a tea as well. Too bad I couldn't though seeing as when she was finished taking my mom's order she was off on her way. That did not make me happy either.

Fifth, there was no strawberry jam or syrup on the table and I had asked our waitress for some. She forgot it. So I couldn't even begin to eat my breakfast without it. Not wanting my food to get cold, I tried going to one of the waitresses at the front to ask for some. I said, " Excuse me? " as she walked right by me and didn't even acknowledge me. I was really getting fed up at this point. Luckily there was a bottle of syrup and some strawberry jam at the table in front of us.

And sixth, my mom's bacon wasn't as crisp as she would have liked it and sent it back asking if it could be more well done, and they completely burnt it, leading her to not be able to eat it. Her toast was burnt as well and my toast was kind of soggy.

Over-all it was a bad experience and not a good start to my day, but it did get better. :)

Mmm, I love breakfast. :)
